Productivity Ideasby Melanie BrownThe internet is down and now you can't check your email or attend to your work. Most people would take this opportunity to break, or better yet…leave. But as any coach will tell you, "The best athletes are created in the off season." The same is true for the best employees. Is your desk clean? The copier full? Does that person in the cubicle next to you need some help? Time efficiencies are the biggest problem in the workforce. Take advantage of the down time to do the things you wouldn't normally do, or have time to do. It's these advantageous times that can help the most later. Instead of packing up 15 minutes early, and waiting for the clock to strike 5:00, go over your schedule for the next day. Organize your desk. Refill your post-it dispenser. You'll feel much better walking into your office the next morning knowing you're fully prepared to start your day! |
